Annual 5k Run/Walk
  
Our certified 5K certified run/walk winds its way through the heart of small town America
with the purpose of supporting cancer patients as their hero.

Named in honor of Jessica Froelick who lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 34 leaving behind her family and friends. This run/walk recognizes the hero within each of us. Jessica was the epitome of the compassionate advocate for cancer survivors like herself. She supported others going through treatment in every way she could - through fundraisers, benefits, volunteering,
and lending assistance wherever she was needed.
She was a source of strength and grace and will always be missed.

This run/walk is our way of honoring her example - as her heroes. We transform into everyday heroes each time we act out of love, showing courage in the face of overwhelming fear by holding a hand, offering comfort, and assuring our support.

Jessica's Hope Stretch
For Survivors and those battling cancer
The Hope Stretch represents so much that Jessica loved and supported. She always found hope and resources for survivors, and advocated for them.
This stretch is our way of supporting and recognizing those
who have fought or are fighting the battle.

Kid's Fun Run!
For children 12 and under
The Kid's Fun Run is about the love and hope that Jessica found in the children of our community.
Their lap is .3 miles of fun and excitement!

PLEASE REGISTER BY AUGUST 23rd, 2024 TO RECEIVE A FREE T-SHIRT. 

Event proceeds benefit those that are battling cancer and that live in Madison or Oneida County or are being treated at Oneida/Roswell Cancer Center in Oneida, NY or The Upstate Cancer Center in Verona, NY.  To date we have helped over 400 families, all because of heroes like you. Thank you! Our goal is to help local cancer patients stress a little less about bills and focus their energies on battling cancer.

Schedule of events:
Opening Ceremony: 930am
Kid's Fun Run: Immediately after opening ceremony
Survivor Ceremony: Immediately following Kid's Fun Run
Runners start: 10am
Walkers start: 1015am
Basket Raffle - 1130am

Starts and ends at the Oneida High School.

Jessica Jones Froelick

September 27, 1983 – November 5, 2017

 

The Jessica’s Heroes Foundation was formed to honor and carry on the caring work of Jessica Froelick. Jessica passed away at the young age of 34 from Metastatic Breast Cancer. Jessica bravely fought this very difficult and trying battle for 7 years.

Born in Oneida on September 27, 1983, she was the daughter of Charles and Debbie Jones. A lifelong resident of Oneida, NY, Jessica was a graduate of Oneida High School, class of 2001. She later received her degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Morrisville College. Jessica was married to Joe Froelick and they have 2 young boys Logan and Tyler, the joy and light of her life.
